TATE FRANTZ

Frantz grew up in the Adirondack Mountains of Lake Placid, NY in an outdoor family.

As the middle of three active boys, he spent his childhood building bike jumps in the forest, tow-skiing on unplowed roads behind a minivan, and doing flips out of the tree house into piles of leaves.

His early days were spent enjoying adventures mountain biking, rock climbing, trail running, multi-day hiking treks, and backcountry skiing.

After a knee injury, he switched from Nordic Combined to Special Jumping in 2023. Before going all-in with Ski Jumping he also played lacrosse and soccer and raced in Nordic and Alpine Skiing.

Hometown: Lake Placid, NY/ Lillehammer Norway —moved to Norway at age 16 for higher-level training opportunities and attended NTG boarding school

Family: Middle of 3 boys: Kai Frantz 22 (D1 Nordic), Trey 16 (Prep Soccer), Mom-Mimi Wacholder (former US Figure Skating Team Member) Father-Bennett Frantz 

Education: NTG Lillehammer, Norway Graduated 2024

Interests include: Fly fishing, cliff jumping, trail running, mountain biking, nutrition, cooking
